Job Title: Project Delivery Worker - Care Experience
Reports To: In Care & Leaving Care Project Manager and Head of Projects
Location: Countywide (Office base is Workington)
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract, with the option to extend subject to continued funding.
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Salary: £27,295 per annum, plus stakeholder pension, mileage allowance, health benefits, 25 days annual leave and optional hybrid working.

Cumbria Youth Alliance is looking for a Project Delivery Worker – Care Experience to support young people across Carlisle and West Cumbria through one-to-one mentoring, group work, school-based delivery and employability activities. You'll build trusted relationships, help young people overcome barriers, and support them to progress into education, employment and training.
A significant part of the role is delivered within secondary schools across West Cumbria, working closely with schools, Personal Advisors, social workers and other partners. You'll also support the delivery of our Care Experience Enrichment Fund, helping young people access practical and financial support that enables them to achieve their goals.
Due to the geographical nature of programme delivery, the role requires extensive travel throughout Cumbria, a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to drive CYA minibuses to support programme delivery, activities and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of care-experienced young people.
- Deliver one-to-one and group support within schools and the community.
- Support young people to progress into education, employment and training.
- Work with schools, employers, Personal Advisors and partner organisations.
- Support the delivery of the Care Experience Enrichment Fund.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to programme monitoring.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working with young people in youth work, education or a related setting.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- An understanding of the challenges faced by care-experienced young people.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
