Vehicle Strip Fitter
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear
Shift: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30
Pay Rate: £14.55-£16.28 per hour
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing Work
We are seeking experienced Vehicle Strip Fitters to join a busy automotive bodyshop operation in Newcastle. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring vehicles are stripped, repaired, and refitted to the highest standards before progressing through the repair process.
The successful candidate will work closely with the wider bodyshop team to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to the required quality standards.
The Role:
- Accurately remove vehicle components, including body panels, trim, mechanical, and electrical parts
- Strip damaged vehicles in preparation for repair work
- Refit components following repair, ensuring vehicles are restored to manufacturer standards
- Ensure all removed parts are stored safely and correctly identified
- Work closely with panel beaters, painters, and other bodyshop departments
- Assist other areas of the workshop when required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Strip Fitter, MET Technician, or similar automotive role is essential
- Good understanding of vehicle body, trim, mechanical, and electrical components
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Must have own tools
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
