An opportunity has arisen for a competent, experienced and enthusiastic, qualified finance professional within the Ambulance sector. The Deputy Director of Finance (DDoF) is accountable to the Director of Finance, working to improve financial management across the Trust, ensuring effective management and leadership of the finance team, and reporting the financial position of the trust and maintaining financial integrity.
The DDoF provides leadership and direction to the Finance and Department ensuring the delivery of all statutory financial duties. The DDoF will advise on highly complex issues and leads on corporate reporting/providing strategic financial and business planning advice.
The DDoF will play a key role in the developing the financial aspects of the trust's annual plan and long term financial plan
The DDoF will present and communicate information on the financial implications of strategic and operational decisions to the Board and subcommittees of the Board.
The DDoF will be responsible for ensuring that the finance directorate compiles with external standards, best practice so that financial systems, controls and processes are operating effectively.
The post holder will deputise for the Finance Director across their whole portfolio (Estates, Fleet, Finance, Security).
The DDoF will interact and liaise with Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire ICB Cluster.
The DDoF will undertake day to day management of the finance department.
Main duties include:
Lead the internal and external monthly reporting
Delivery of financial information and data to NHSE and ICBs when requested
Delivery of financial information and data to Trust senior management (clinical and non clinical)
Developing the annual financial plan
Working with the Transformation team to identify annual efficiency savings for the Trust
Manage the overall financial operations of the Trust
Co-ordinate the annual budget setting process
Manage and lead the updating of the strategic long-term financial model
Manage the process by which business cases are brought to Executive Directors
Manage the Capital Management Committee on behalf of the Director of Finance
Manage the financial input to any tenders
Be responsible for the financial aspects of the Trust’s Patient Level Information and Costing System
Lead the management of the Trust partnership agreement with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Working with Head of Financial Accounting for the production and administration of Annual Accounts
Responsible for financial and accounting systems
Organises and liaises with Internal Audit and with auditors regarding the External Financial Statutory Audit
Establishes and maintains financial procedures and ensures compliance
Deputises for the Finance Director across all their portfolio
Ensures that standards of reporting, financial control and auditing apply to Charitable Funds as to the main functions of the organisation
