About Us
Hennighan's Fish & Chips is a growing, quality-focused fish and chip business with a reputation for high standards, great food and excellent customer service. As our business continues to expand, we are looking to recruit a Trainee Fryer who is keen to develop a long-term career within the industry.
This is a unique opportunity to receive structured training from our experienced management team, with the potential to progress into a management position upon successful completion of the training programme.
The Role
As a Trainee Fryer, you will undertake a comprehensive 12-month training programme designed to develop your skills and knowledge in all aspects of fish and chip shop operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Frying fish, chips and other menu items to Hennighan's exacting standards
- Learning stock control and product management
- Managing and maintaining frying oils
- Maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation
- Supporting daily shop operations
- Assisting with menu development and new product ideas
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times
- Working closely with the management team to develop your skills and industry knowledge

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous catering, hospitality or food service experience
- Is enthusiastic and eager to learn
- Takes pride in producing quality food
- Has excellent timekeeping and reliability
- Works well as part of a team
- Can work flexibly across daytime, evening and weekend shifts
- Wants to develop a long-term career within the fish and chip industry
Hours
- 40–50 hours per week
- 5 days per week
- Daytime, evening and weekend shifts required
- Long 3-day weekend every 3 weeks
