Overview
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Chef to join our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining exceptional hygiene standards, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently during service. Duties
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of food to a consistently high standard
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, chopping, measuring, and portioning as required
- Support chefs during busy service periods to ensure timely food preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented in line with company recipes and quality standards
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times
- Monitor stock levels and assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance issues
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required to support smooth kitchen operations
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure an efficient and well-organised service
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or food preparation role is desirable
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, food safety, and HACCP procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures accurately
- A positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting kitchen supplies when required
- A genuine passion for food preparation and maintaining high culinary standards
- Flexibility to work shifts, mainly evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
Pay: £12.21-£18.58 per hour
