Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Store Assistant / Cashier to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining the organisation of the store. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service throughout their visit
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash, card payments, and refunds
- Assist customers with enquiries regarding products and store layout
- Restock shelves and organise merchandise to ensure an attractive presentation
- Upsell products where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the checkout area and store environment
- Manage stock levels and report low inventory items to management
- Handle phone enquiries professionally following proper phone etiquette
- Support with merchandising tasks to promote featured products effectively
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities in Spanish are highly advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Good time management to ensure smooth store operations during shifts
- Ability to upsell products confidently and politely
- Friendly phone manner for customer interactions over the phone
