Chandos Civil Engineering are a leading, forward-thinking groundworks company based in Cheadle. Our clients include some of the largest house builders and contractors in the UK, working on a wide variety of schemes.
Due to expansion, we are looking for a Trainee apprentice Construction support technician to assist with Health and Safety and the buying/procurement department to join our office team. The role would be more suited to a school/college leaver just starting out on their career. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and well established Civil Engineering firm working across the North West. Working within a busy and fast paced procurement department, your key duties will include
· Assisting with health and safety training bookings
· Updating risk assessments
· Updating health and safety records
· Monthly equipment quality checks
· Sourcing materials and placing orders.
· Support site with product knowledge.
· Manage supply chain and organise internal supply chain database.
· Seeing orders through from placing, chasing delivery and delivery confirmation.
· Use a variety of Microsoft Packages.
· Use a variety of industry specific programmes
· Supporting the day to day running of the office such as answering the phones
Working hours
Monday – Friday 7:30 – 4:30
Skills required
. Grade 5 or above in GCSE english lang and Maths
· Computer literate.
· Good understanding of basic Microsoft Office programs – i.e outlook, excel, word.
· Good communication skills both on the phone and in face to face meetings.
· Good organisational ability and time management.
· Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

· Motivated and hard working.
· Punctual.
· Able to work both in a team and alone.
· Good negotiation skills.
· Ability to think on your feet with an ever changing day.
· Personable – able to build professional relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
Pay: £18,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
