Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate personal care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Supervise and support junior care staff to ensure high standards of care are maintained at all times.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, medication administration, and any changes in residents’ conditions using IT systems.
- Promote effective communication with residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being by engaging in meaningful activities and providing companionship.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and infection control procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience working in a care home or senior care environment with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Valid driving license preferred for transport-related duties or outings.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, health & safety standards, and infection control practices.
