Welcome to the domestic team at More Than English, where teenagers aged 12–17 from around the world come to live, learn and make friends in Ludlow, Shropshire.
The role of Domestic Assistant is critical to the success of our residence summer school. Our students come from all over the world and what their parents really like is the ‘home from home’ environment at Moor Park. Domestic Assistants help create a homely environment in two ways. Firstly, by being a friendly face engaging positively with students, e.g. during morning service at breakfast. Secondly, by helping to keep the school clean & tidy, looking at its best.
Summary - Main Duties:
· Creating a ‘home from home’ environment for teenagers from around the world by offering a friendly and professional cleaning service.
· Leading operation of the laundry
· Dinner and lunch service
Days & Times:
This temporary role is 20 hours a week, 4 hours a day over 5 days, includes weekend work. No split-shifts.
· Shift 1: 8am – 12pm
· Shift 2: 10am – 2pm
· Shift 3: 4pm – 8pm (occasionally 5pm-9pm)

Salary scale:
· 21+
Band 1: with relevant professional cleaning experience, e.g. hotel, school or similar
£15.00 per hour including holiday pay
Basic pay £13.39 + £1.62 holiday pay
Band 2: with some previous cleaning experience or experience in a busy, practical role requiring reliability and attention to detail
£14.27 per hour including holiday pay
Basic pay £12.73 + £1.54 holiday pay
· 18-20
£12.18 per hour including holiday pay
Basic pay £10.87 + £1.31 holiday pay
· Under 18
£9.06 per hour including holiday pay
Basic pay £8.09 + £0.98 holiday pay
Other benefits:
· DBS: if you do not have a portable DBS, we will make a 50% contribution £32.60.
