We are looking to recruit a medical receptionist to our friendly Practice team who support our clinical team across our GP practices to provide a high standard of care for our patients.
Our practice hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am until 6.30pm, and for the successful candidate will are looking to recruit for the working hours of:
Monday - 8:00am - 4:00pm
Tuesday - 8:00am - 4:00pm
Thursday - 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday - 8:00am - 5:00pm
This is a full-time position. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates interested in a job share arrangement, where the hours and days would be split between two suitable applicants. Please state within your application if you are applying on a job share basis and include your preferred working pattern where possible.

Chapel Lane Surgery and The Hollies Family Surgery

There may be a requirement to work across practices therefore candidates need to be flexible. Previous experience would be desirable but not essential.

Job Summary
To provide a friendly and welcoming service to all patients, staff and visitors to the Surgery and to deal with all enquiries/tasks in a competent and thorough manner.
Reception Duties
- Answering telephone calls
- Greeting patients and visitors to both practices in a polite and courteous manner
- Dealing with all requests from patients, staff and health care professionals
- To be able to use the appointment systems (EMIS) confidently and to book, cancel and re- schedule appointments
- Updating patient details on the clinical system
- Making sure the appointment system runs smoothly
- Assist with the clinical triage system and inform patients of the appropriate outcome
- Checking in samples correctly for Health Care Assistants following required protocol
- Giving out result comments from GPs
- Documenting contacts with patients in the clinical system
- Monitoring and action of the practice email account
- Dealing with all incoming tasks/work requests
- Being on hand to other duties from the management team.
