We are recruiting Health Care Assistants to join our Urgent Care Emergency Access Pathway services, providing vital support to individuals experiencing mental health crises across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
About the Service:
You will be part of a dynamic, nursing-led team working across three specialist services:
Mental Health Urgent Care Hub (MHUCH)
The MHUCH hub is a unit set up during COVID to divert patients from accident and emergency to triage and assess patients with LLR who are experiencing mental health crisis. It is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with band 6 MHPs and band 3 health care support workers.
Mental Health Response Vehicle (MHRV)
The MHRV is a new service set up in early 2024, it a mental health ambulance grey in colour with the NHS logo inscribed on the side. It provides on the scene triage and assessment for patients in mental health crisis within LLR. It is also staffed by band 6 MHPs and band 3 health care support workers, operating between 12:00pm and 00:30am 7 days a week.
Place of Safety Unit (PSAU)
The Place of safety assessment unit is an access unit for patients who are detained under section 136 and 135 under the Mental Health Act 1983. The service offers holding space in a dignified manner for all aged patients within LLR while they wait for an assessment under the mental health act. It is staffed by RMNs and band 3 health care support worker operating 24 hours day 7 days a week.
This is a 24/7 service, meaning no two days are the sameoffering a truly rewarding and varied role where you can make a real difference.
Shift Patterns & Work-Life Balance:
We offer a range of shift patterns to support service delivery and provide flexibility and can offer both Full and Part time opportunities.
MHUCH & PSAU (you will work 3 long days or 3 nights per week and this is on a rota basis)
Long Days: 08:00 20:30
Nights: 20:00 08:30
MHRV
Twilight Shift: 12:00 00:30
