We are currently looking to recruit a Lamination Operator in our busy conversion department.
Previous experience in a fast faced manufacturing environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities -
- Set up, operate, and monitor solvent-based, solventless, or water-based lamination machines.
- Prepare raw materials, adhesives, and reels in accordance with production specifications.
- Ensure correct machine settings for speed, tension, coating weight, temperature, and nip pressure.
- Perform quality inspections throughout production, checking:
- Bond strength
- Coating consistency
- Registration
- Appearance and finish
- Roll quality
- Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
- Monitor adhesive mixing ratios and application where applicable.
- Carry out routine machine cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Identify and resolve production issues to minimise downtime and waste.
- Work closely with the quality, maintenance, and production teams to achieve production targets.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Skills & Experience -
- Previous experience operating machinery, preferably a laminating machine.
- Ability to read and understand production specifications and job sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible approach to shift work where required.
This role is for 36hrs per week on a double day shift rotation.
Early shift hours are Monday - Thursday 7am - 2.30pm and Friday 7am - 1pm.
Back shift hours are Monday - Thursday 2.30pm - 10pm and Friday 1pm - 7pm.
The starting rate of pay for this role is £13.73 and this will increase to £14.63 upon completion of your training.
