ABM is currently recruiting for Full time, Permanent Operations Supervisor for an immediate start in Airport Road Belfast.
Purpose:
Reporting to the Site Lead, we are seeking a highly motivated, confident and safety conscious individual to perform the duties of the Operations Supervisor. The role will entail the provision of operational support, to both the Operational Shift Technicians and to Site Leads / Shift Supervisors, within one or more industrial sites in the Greater Belfast area.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the activities of a diverse team of engineers across various disciplines.
- Ensuring the facilities management infrastructure functions safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Offering administrative, supervisory, and operational assistance to the on-site facilities management team.
- Managing and operating computer-aided facilities management systems, including Pemac and Concept.
- Developing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Delivering constructive feedback to both Operational Shift Technicians and Site Leads/Shift Supervisors.
- Guaranteeing that all services managed by ABM are accessible to meet the clients' production needs.
- Ensuring that all maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with site policies, schedules, and procedures.
- Issuing Permits to Work and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) for both the site team and subcontractors.
- Reviewing, ensuring compliance, and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) as a designated individual.
- Promoting efficient, high-quality asset management through the clients' CAFM systems.
- Maintaining documentation to meet the standards required for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Supervising and coordinating a multi-skilled team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers/Technicians and service contracts through subcontractor groups.
- Monitoring and identifying opportunities to enhance the energy efficiency of all assets within the service scope.
- Encouraging teamwork and enhancing communication between management and the shift based team.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for all shift-based activities for both Site Leads/Supervisors and the Shift Team.
- Identifying necessary training to improve the cross-functional skill set of Shift Team members.
- Recognizing opportunities for the lateral application of existing Shift Team skills to enhance self-delivery.
- Actively participating in workshops, training, and feedback sessions.
- Providing necessary support to all technical staff.
- Assisting the Shift Supervisor/Site Lead in preparing weekly and monthly reports
Essential Criteria:
- Trade qualification in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
- Prior experience in a supervisory management role.
- Minimum certification in NEBOSH or IOSH.
- A formal qualification such as HNC or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in engineering or trade within a regulated industrial setting.
- Proficient in computer skills, with a solid understanding of CAFM systems.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and face-to-face interactions.
- Ability to apply core technical skills effectively, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
- Proactively engage with customers, addressing concerns and escalating issues to management as necessary.
- Seize opportunities to foster positive and professional working relationships.
- Take responsibility for personal development.
- Comprehend and demonstrate the requirements to meet client service expectations.
