The successful candidate will be flexible and willing to work across both of our practice locations, including holiday cover periods if possible
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to dentists, therapists, and specialists during a wide range of clinical procedures.
- Maintain the highest standards of cross-infection prevention and decontamination in line with current regulations and practice policies.
- Prepare treatment rooms and instrument trays efficiently for clinical procedures.
- Ensure patient records and clinical documentation are accurate, up to date, and maintained confidentially.
- Assist in the effective management of surgeries, ensuring all procedures are followed at the start and end of each day.
- Participate and engage at the morning huddles
- Anticipation of the clinicians needs, pre-planning for the day, getting familiar with the procedures required for the day, attention to details
- Report faulty or malfunctioning equipment promptly to ensure timely repair and maintenance.
- Monitor stock levels and support the ordering of clinical materials and supplies.
- Liaise with dental laboratories and the administration team to coordinate the dispatch and receipt of laboratory work.
- Build positive relationships with patients, ensuring their comfort, confidence, and overall experience within the practice.
- Support the clinical and reception teams in encouraging treatment plan acceptance, patient referrals, and testimonials.
- Contribute proactively to practice meetings and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- To participate in extended roles within the practice relating to compliance, audit, marketing and other tasks
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Current GDC Registration (essential).
- Minimum 1 year of Dental Nursing experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, caring, and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Good IT skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive, proactive, and "can-do" attitude.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- A willingness to learn, develop new skills, and embrace new challenges.

- Between the hours of 0800 and 19.00 to accommodate some early and late appointments
