Overview
We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent service to customers, handling transactions efficiently, and promoting products effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a positive attitude. Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in English and Spanish, will be highly valued. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a professional manner
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling cash, card transactions, and refunds
- Upsell products and promote ongoing sales or special offers to maximise revenue
- Maintain an organised checkout area and ensure stock displays are attractive and well-stocked
- Provide information about products, store policies, and ongoing promotions
- Handle customer enquiries via phone or in person with courtesy and professionalism
- Assist with merchandising tasks to ensure the sales floor is inviting and well-presented
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise queues and maintain excellent service standards
Requirements
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or additional languages is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Organisational skills to keep the checkout area neat and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent phone etiquette for customer interactions over the phone or via messaging platforms
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashier roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Weekend work will be included in this role
