The Lodge Pre-School & Nursery is looking for an experienced and thoughtful Curriculum and Pedagogy Lead to shape high-quality learning experiences for our Little Lodgers and their families.
This is a key leadership role within our nursery, working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team to ensure our curriculum and everyday practice reflect The Lodge ethos: calm, inspiring, child-led and rooted in meaningful play and exploration.
You will support consistency across the nursery, ensuring children experience high-quality learning both indoors and outdoors, and that environments are engaging, well considered and responsive to children’s interests.
This role requires someone confident in early years practice, passionate about children’s development, and able to bring ideas into practice in a practical and meaningful way. You will work directly within rooms, supporting staff and children while maintaining the high standards we are proud of at The Lodge.
What you'll receive:
- 40 hours per week, 5 days over Monday–Friday, 07:30–17:30
- Starting salary £16.50 per hour (£34,320 annually)
- An extra day off for your birthday each year
- Company-paid Summer and Christmas parties
- Lunch provided (shared with the children) plus staff snacks
- Employee of the Month award (£50)
- Generous holiday incentive – after 1 year’s service, receive 1 additional day annual leave each year (up to 5 extra days)
Staff wear their own clothes – no uniform required.
The Lodge has exceptionally high standards to maintain and is highly respected by our families and Little Lodgers. The person in this role must be forward-thinking, confident, and able to lead within practice while supporting the team effectively.
We are looking for someone who is Level 3 qualified (or above) and has experience within a nursery setting, ideally in a leadership role.
Must haves:
- Current DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain – funded by the company)
- Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete – funded by the company)
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, flexible and able to use their own initiative
- Resourceful, creative and reflective in practice
- A strong team player who values shared ideas
- Able to accept challenge and adapt practice where needed
- Confident in leading practice within a room and supporting team members
- Able to facilitate engaging learning experiences where children can explore
- Confident communicating with families with empathy, kindness, fun and humour
- Able to support planning and children’s next steps in learning
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you.
