MJ Children's Services provides residential and support services for young people who are looked after by the Local Authorities. We are a well established and expanding small company, operating in the Peterborough area since 1999.
The emphasis of our work is to provide a safe and nurturing environment, to enable young people to deal with their current issues and move forward into a more productive and positive future. The young people we care for have experienced a traumatic and neglectful early life, and need your love and support. We understand the importance placed on our role as attachment figures, working to the therapeutic B.E.A.C.O.N model to provide love, care and support to our young people.
Previous experience is necessary (minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar role) and a completed or willingness to complete your Level 3 Diploma Qualification in Residential Childcare.
A FULL UK Manual Driving licence is essential for this role, any applicants without this may not get a response due to this being a requirement.
The role will include working on average 8 to 10 shifts (24.5 hour including a sleep-in) per 28-days on a cyclical rota system; you will have one weekend off in three. You will also be required to complete 4 on-calls per 28-day period.
3 week rota pattern
Week 1 Monday, Thursday and Saturday
Week 2 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday
Week 3 Wednesday
Working locations are PE7 and PE11
Payment is broken down into hourly rate pay, sleep in allowance and on-call payments but falls between the salary range of £29,200 to £35,000. This can be discussed further, when expressing an interest in the role.
