Technical Engineer
An opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly growing UK designer and manufacturer of high-quality architectural grade LED lighting, using the most up-to-date technology available.
Based in Hatfield’s Business Park in an electro-mechanical environment – your main responsibilities will be to support the Technical department, product quality, production support and the RMA process, as well as client support and visits when required.
As we design our own products, the role requires a combination of bespoke and off the shelf component approval, as well as finished Electro-mechanical goods and custom metalized finishes.
You will work with the Technical Manager to ensure product certification and operational requirements/targets.
Duties / Responsibilities:
· Technical support for Sales team and Clients – including on-site visits if required.
· Product Testing – including LDT, IES & Datasheet generation.
· Product Thermal / Optical testing and approval process.
· Lighting control system testing and approval process.
· New Product Development evaluation, approval, and certifications.
· Maintenance of Product BOM structures.
· Sample assembly and test for client approval.
· Production support of build issues and NPI training.
· Deliver cost savings initiatives – through controlled CI methods.
· Industry research into future technologies and NPI Roadmap suggestions.
Experience:
· Technical support within the lighting industry – is essential
· Lighting Product Testing and Certification
· Knowledge of lighting control protocols (DALI, CASAMBI, etc).
· Electro-mechanical product base - knowledge of metalwork finishing processes would be an advantage.
· NPI process and production approval / certification.
· Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards (IPC-A-610 / ISO9001).
· Lighting Design experience – would be a massive advantage.
· MRP System experience – Priority Software would be a massive advantage.

Academic Qualifications:
· Degree level – or relevant work experience.
· Background in the lighting industry is essential.
· Electrical / Electronic qualification.

Pay: £27,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
