Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. Duties
- Assist with daily personal care routines, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care plans in collaboration with senior staff
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Document observations and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour
- Support the organisation of activities to promote wellbeing and engagement
- Drive clients or staff as needed for appointments or errands (if qualified)
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving home visits or transportation duties
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Strong IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care
