We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Worker to join our team, and make a difference to peoples lives. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals in need of care within their own homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others and the ability to adapt to their various care needs. We would like you to work every other weekend if you can, but if not this can be discussed.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Support clients with mobility as required.
- Engage in meaningful activities with clients to promote mental and emotional well-being, particularly for those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Monitor clients' health conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for clients, ensuring their dignity and independence are respected at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or similar roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform moving and handling safely when assisting clients.
- Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary requirements is an advantage.
- Care certificate or willingness to obtain certification is essential.
- A caring attitude, patience, and a commitment to providing high-quality care are essential attributes for this role.
