ROLE PURPOSE
Mitie's Fire & Security division is seeking a highly organised and tenacious Strategic Support Manager to work closely with the Director, Client Strategy and Accounts. This is a pivotal role at the heart of the leadership function - keeping the Director focused and on track, driving pace and accountability across the wider team, and ensuring that strategic priorities translate into disciplined, well-executed delivery.
This is not a traditional administrative or assistant role. It is suited to a sharp, confident operator who can manage competing priorities, hold senior stakeholders to account on deadlines, and bring structure, rigour and polish to everything from client-facing presentations to internal reporting rhythms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the right hand to the Director, Client Strategy and Accounts - managing priorities, correspondence, diary and workload to ensure their time is focused on the highest-value activity.
Build, own and maintain the rhythm of the business: coordinating meetings, tracking actions, and following up proactively to ensure deadlines and commitments are met across the team.
Design and produce high-quality slideshows, board packs and client-facing presentations, translating strategic thinking into clear, polished, professional materials.
Hold colleagues - including senior stakeholders - accountable where actions or deliverables are falling behind schedule, tactfully but firmly keeping people “in check.”
Support the wider Client Strategy and Accounts team with planning, coordination and organisation, acting as a central point of structure for the function.
Track key projects, initiatives and client commitments, flagging risks to timelines early and driving resolution.
Prepare briefing documents, reports and correspondence on behalf of the Director, ensuring accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail at all times.
Coordinate logistics for key meetings, client engagements and strategic sessions, ensuring seamless delivery on the day.
Manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Identify opportunities to improve team processes, ways of working and organisational efficiency.
ABOUT YOU
You will be a highly organised, intelligent and tenacious individual who thrives on structure and is comfortable challenging others - diplomatically but directly - to keep work on track. You will bring:
Proven experience in a strategic support, business support, executive support, PMO or project coordination role, ideally supporting senior leaders or directors.
Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously.
Confidence and tenacity to follow up, chase and hold people to account, including senior colleagues, without losing professionalism.
Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to create polished, well-structured presentations from a brief or from raw information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset - someone who anticipates needs rather than waiting to be asked.
Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Resilience and composure when managing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Experience within a corporate, client-facing or professional services environment is desirable.
