Main Purpose
A Community Support Worker is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and person‑centred support across both community and accommodation-based services. The purpose of the role is to help people live safer, more independent, and more fulfilling lives within their own communities by providing support that is responsive, respectful, non‑judgemental, and empowering.
The role involves promoting and continually improving the quality of enabling support offered within the community, ensuring all services are delivered in line with Step One policies and values. Community Support Workers operate within a staffing rotation that includes weekend work, sleep‑ins at our 24/7 service, and flexibility to meet changing needs.
You will be supporting people with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and mental health needs across Exeter and South Devon. The focus is on delivering a comprehensive, effective, and person‑centred service to individuals who rely on us for support and enabling.
Within our supported living and community services, we aim to foster independence and encourage people to explore their individuality. Support may take place in one of our supported living properties or out in the community. Our goal is to help each person achieve their personal aspirations while feeling safe, valued, and in control of their own lives.
