NOW Education is currently recruiting qualified teachers (QTS) who are interested in flexible supply teaching opportunities within SEND specialist schools across Walsall, Wolverhampton and Lichfield.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a range of specialist provisions supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and communication and interaction needs.
Our partner schools are seeking confident, compassionate and adaptable teachers who can provide high-quality teaching while creating safe, engaging and inclusive learning environments where every pupil can thrive.
We are looking for teachers who are available to work between 1 and 5 days per week, offering complete flexibility to fit around your lifestyle. There are also opportunities for long-term placements and permanent positions for those looking to secure a more consistent role.
The Role
As a Flexible SEND Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across a variety of specialist settings while adapting your teaching to meet individual learning needs. There will be no planning, marking or extra curricular activities involved meaning you can focus on delivering lessons. You will work closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to support pupils academically, socially and emotionally, helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons in line with the school's curriculum and lesson plans
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of SEND needs
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils' communication, emotional wellbeing and learning development
- Manage behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs and wider school staff
- Promote pupil independence, confidence and engagement in learning
- Maintain accurate records and follow school safeguarding procedures
What We're Looking For
- Application's are welcome from both Primary and Secondary trained teachers!
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND within specialist or mainstream settings (essential)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach to teaching
- Flexibility to work across different SEND specialist schools
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
