Overview
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Stores Assistant to join our team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout our manufacturing operations.
You will be responsible for receiving, storing and issuing materials, maintaining accurate stock records, cleaning machined parts and supporting the production team with day-to-day stores activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and accurately book in deliveries.
- Store materials and components safely and efficiently.
- Pick and issue materials to production as required.
- Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock counts.
- Prepare machined parts for subsequent operations.
- Ensure stores areas are kept clean, organised and safe.
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory control activities.
- Support production and manufacturing teams with material requirements.
- Follow company procedures relating to quality, health and safety.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or goods-in environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy and experience of stock control systems.
- A positive and proactive approach to work.
Desirable
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience using Sage 200 or similar ERP/stock management software.
- Forklift truck licence.
Training will be provided to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Location & hours
- This is a full-time position available immediately, based at our factory in Halstead, Essex.
- Working hours are Monday - Thursday 8:45am – 5:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 1:00pm.
- There will be opportunity for paid overtime during busy periods at your managers discretion.
