Job Purpose
To secure the financial future of the charity by identifying, applying for, and managing grant funding and donor relationships. You will turn our community impact into compelling applications that satisfy the requirements of local and national funders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grant Research & Applications
- Proactively identify new funding streams (National Lottery, local government, private trusts, and corporate foundations).
- Lead the writing and submission of high-quality grant applications.
- Maintain a "funding calendar" to ensure deadlines for renewals and new bids are never missed.
2. Monitoring & Evaluation (Reporting)
- Work with the Community Engagement Officer to collect data (attendance, feedback, case studies) required by funders.
- Draft "Impact Reports" to show funders exactly how their money was spent and the difference it made.
- Ensure all grant-funded projects remain compliant with the funder’s terms and conditions.
- Administer and prepare Social Value Engine reports
3. Individual & Community Giving
- Set up and manage digital giving platforms (e.g., JustGiving, Gift Aid).
- Explore local corporate partnerships or "Sponsor a Project" schemes.
- Maintain a simple database (CRM) of donors to ensure they are thanked and kept updated.
Qualifications
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability in time management and multitasking under pressure
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience in writng successful grant bids is a plus
- Proficiency in using office software and organisational tools
