To carry out supplier assessments on behalf of CQMS Safety-Scheme, a full member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Forum, ensuring compliance with SSIP Core Criteria, CQMS standards, and relevant codes of practice.
- Assess Health & Safety submissions completed by suppliers to verify compliance against defined standards and codes of practice, to include the SSIP Core Criteria and CQMS standards.
- Provide clear, constructive, and concise feedback where submissions do not meet required standards.
- Communicate with suppliers via email and telephone to discuss assessment outcomes and request additional information where required.
- Ensure all assessments are completed accurately, consistently, and within agreed timescales.
- Liaise with the Safety-Scheme Administration Team to communicate assessment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and filing systems.
- Collaborate effectively as part of the wider assessment team.
- Liaise with the CDM Director regarding workload, priorities, and any support requirements.
- Work within a hybrid environment, following initial training, with a split of three days office-based and two days working from home.
- Possibility of expanding assessment role beyond H&S into other topics such as Environmental, Quality, etc.
Essential Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum qualification).
- A minimum of two years' Health & Safety experience within the UK, preferably within the construction sector.
- IOSH membership at Technical (TechIOSH) level or above, or evidence of ongoing relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to assess evidence against defined standards and exercise sound professional judgement.
- Effective workload management and organisational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and performance targets (KPIs).
Desirable Requirements:
- SSIP Assessor Training certification.
- Previous experience conducting SSIP assessments.
- Experience in assessing additional compliance disciplines such as Environmental, Quality etc.
