We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Technician to support teaching, learning, and creative activity across Event Production and Digital Arts. This is a Grade E role, ideal for someone looking to develop a career in technical production and creative technologies.
The postholder will support academic staff and students during practical sessions, workshops, and live projects. Responsibilities include preparing, setting up, operating (under guidance), and dismantling a range of equipment such as lighting, audio, projection, and digital production systems. You will help ensure sessions run smoothly, safely, and effectively, providing basic technical assistance where required.
The role operates across both Confetti and City campuses, offering valuable exposure to a broad range of facilities and disciplines, including theatre environments, live event spaces, and Virtual Production Studios. You will also contribute to wider student support, assisting with demonstrations, and production activity.
This position requires a willingness to learn, an interest in technical and creative practice, and a flexible, team-focused approach. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively are essential.
In return, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines within a supportive environment, with opportunities to develop technical skills and build a foundation for career progression within event production and digital arts.
For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.
