French speaking Internal Audit Manager — 12-Month FTC
Remote-based role, ideally in the UK or France, with approximately 25–30% travel to France for audit fieldwork.
Opportunity Overview
We have been exclusively approached by a FTSE-listed commercial business to help find a French-speaking Internal Audit Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This multi-billion-pound/euro company is one of the leaders in its industry and employs thousands of people across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Head of Audit and Risk, who in turn reports to the Board and the Audit Committee, you will be responsible for managing and executing end-to-end Group-wide financial and operational audits, as well as ad hoc projects across all Group businesses. You will contribute to the annual audit plan and, where required, manage co-source-delivered projects too.
To be successful in this role, you will need to liaise with internal stakeholders, build strong relationships, and work collaboratively with business leaders. You will act as an ambassador for the audit team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across processes and controls.
Given the remote nature of the role, you should be comfortable working autonomously with limited supervision, while delivering work/projects, which will ultimately help mitigate or remove risks going forward.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a finance, accountancy, or audit professional with experience in practice, such as Big 4 or Top 10, industry internal audit, assurance, controls, or a mix of these backgrounds. A recognised qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CPA, CIMA, DSCG, or DEC, would be helpful, though it is not essential. Fluent English and French are essential. Additional European languages, such as Dutch, German, Romanian, or Polish, would also be beneficial.
This would be an ideal role for a French speaker, who is either an established contractor/consultant, or between roles for any reason (e.g. redundancy), and looking for/open to contract/interim/temp work; and looking for a flexible, remote role, with some travel too. Ideally, we'd like someone to start in Sept-Dec 2026.
