Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in hospitality and food service. This role involves supporting daily café operations, ensuring a welcoming environment, and assisting with food and beverage preparation. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
- Welcome customers warmly and take their orders efficiently
- Serve food and beverages in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen stations
- Restock supplies and ensure all areas are well-organised throughout the shift
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
- Barista experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
- A positive attitude with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
