We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained. This position requires a strong background in hospitality and restaurant management, as well as excellent leadership skills to guide and motivate the kitchen staff.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to all health regulations.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that dishes are prepared to specification and presented beautifully.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain stock without over-ordering.
- Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen procedures.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Help create a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and communication among kitchen personnel.
Skills
- Strong background in hospitality with experience in a restaurant setting.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff.
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on food preparation techniques and presentation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to help resolve conflicts within the team.
