We are excited to offer an amazing opportunity for a daytime and a nighttime practitioner to join our highly experienced and dedicated team, With the main goal of keeping families and their babies together through support and assessment.
Our 5 family Residential Centre provides around the clock support and assessment to parents and their children for a placement period of 12-14 weeks. The parent/family will be assessed on their ability to provide safe and consistent care to their baby using a variety of methods and programmes. Assessments will be completed by our in-house social workers, while the family practitioners daily logs, support sessions and observations will contribute towards the parent's overall progress.
The night shift pattern is 12 hours - 19:45-7:45 (nights), working 4 nights one week Mon/tue/sat/sun and three the next wed/thu/fri on a two week rolling rota. Full time probation period required, which where successful will lead to a permanent contract.
The day shift pattern is 12 hours - 7:45am to 19:45 (days), working 4 days one week Mon/tue/sat/sun and three the next wed/thu/fri on a two week rolling rota. Full time probation period required, which where successful will lead to a permanent contract.
Bank shifts are also available and will be called upon when required.
The role of family practitioner will include but is not limited to;
-being the allocated family practitioner to families on-site
-providing specialist support and advice with parenting such as care, safety, bonding and attachment and attending solo and group activities.
-contributing to the assessment of parenting capacity with accurate log keeping and direct in-person and distanced observations through the use of CCTV.
-safeguarding vulnerable children and their parents
-supporting the placement
-upholding the handbook, statement of purpose and ethos of the centre.
-medication management.
-reducing risk in all aspects of daily life, inside and outside of the home to children and their parents
-supporting parents who have experienced, but not limited to; trauma, substance use, criminality, mental health difficulties, domestic abuse and parents who may have learning needs.
-attending meetings with wider agencies
-making referrals to wider agencies
-using a variety of direct and distanced observations to inform and support.
-supporting parents and their children in-house and to access the community
-providing community outreach and after care
-encouraging safe long-term family outcomes
-adhering to the Residential Centre and Minimum Standards
-promoting health and safety in the workplace and to abide by all the company's policies and procedures and the staff handbook
Practitioners will ideally have;
- a Level 3 in Children, young people and their families; or similar
-2 sources of reference
-previous experience in the social care field
-current DBS or agree to one being completed
-be available to start in the coming weeks
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
