Job Summary
David Morton (Larbert) Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Class 2 HGV Driver with skip and hook loader experience to join our growing team based in Falkirk. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our demolition, recycling, and waste management operations throughout Central Scotland.
This position involves servicing a variety of demolition sites, commercial customers, skip contracts, and scrap metal contracts, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of skips, containers, waste materials, and scrap. We are looking for a professional driver who takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and vehicle care.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class 2 HGV vehicles equipped with skip and hook loader systems.
- Service various demolition sites throughout Central Scotland, collecting and delivering skips, containers, and materials as required.
- Carry out collections and deliveries for skip hire and scrap metal contracts.
- Transport waste, recyclable materials, and scrap safely and efficiently while adhering to all legal requirements.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects, faults, or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, deliveries, collections, and driver documentation.
- Ensure all loads are secured and transported in compliance with road transport regulations.
- Communicate effectively with transport coordinators, site managers, and customers regarding schedules and operational requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading activities when required.
- Represent David Morton (Larbert) Ltd professionally at customer sites and demolition projects.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures, environmental regulations, and road traffic legislation.
Skills & Experience
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience operating skip loaders and hook loaders is essential.
- Experience working within the demolition, recycling, waste management, or scrap metal industries is desirable.
- Good knowledge of road transport regulations and safe vehicle operation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible and dependable approach to work.
- Ability to work safely in varying weather, traffic, and site conditions.
