Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service in a busy food establishment, planning & preparing meals preparing the salad bar etc. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, good organisational skills, and a welcoming attitude to create a positive experience for our customers.
Duties
- Serve customers at the counter, taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till with precision
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area in accordance with food safety regulations while providing friendly advice to customers
- Restock supplies as needed throughout the shift
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times
- Support kitchen staff during busy periods by assisting with basic food tasks when required
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is Essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing payments accurately
- Experience in food preparation or culinary work is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Pay: £13.50 per hour
