Assistant Hotel Manager

We've got a vacancy for a Assistant Manager to join a management team of three. We’ll treat you well, and we’ll expect your best in return. The job is varied and you’ll learn a lot. The position involves working in all front of house departments so life won't be dull!
3 different shifts (Early, Late, 'On'), 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis including weekends, and we occasional overnight on-call phone cover. Previous hotel management experience is essential.
This position is potentially available on a live-in basis for £50 per week or to live-out applicants.

Duties include but not limited to:
· Oversee daily Hotel operations across the business, acting as a point of contact for the resolution of any issues: reservations & reception, spa, maintenance, food and beverage, being flexible in assisting to respond to business and guest needs
· Have contact with each departments on a daily basis and ensure their smooth running
· Ensure competent open up and close down of the Hotel including banking reconciliation, cash handling, balancing card payments and security of premises.
· Ensure effective handover and communication of information to colleagues ensuring relevant information regarding in-house, arriving and departing guests
· Monitor staffing levels as a whole for the Hotel both for the current day and forthcoming activities, ensuring sufficient staffing and engaging in recruitment and retention activities where necessary
· Assist in the training and induction of new staff in conjunction with colleagues
· Ensure compliance with health and safety and legal compliance requirements
· Ensure smooth operation of food and beverage services
· To monitor standards of cleanliness and order across the Hotel on an ongoing basis and ensure standards are maintained
· Awareness of stock levels and place orders with relevant suppliers
· Be the responsible person on shift in regards to emergency situations in line with company procedures
· Identify and report maintenance requirements/hazards
· Complaint handling and resolution (or escalation) in the interests of the business and to the satisfaction of guests
· Other reasonable duties as instructed by managers and directors
