Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of motor vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks efficiently.
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems accurately.
- Carry out welding and fabrication work as required for structural repairs or modifications.
- Assist with the replacement of parts, including heavy lifting where necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used for each vehicle serviced.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing client concerns professionally.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in vehicle repair or maintenance; formal qualifications in automotive technology are preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic machinery.
- Experience with assembly, disassembly, equipment repair, and general maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on vehicles in various positions for extended periods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing faults accurately.
- Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Relevant certifications or licences related to automotive repair are advantageous but not essential.
