Opening on August 1st, The Fox & Hounds is a brand new venture. Set in the beautiful village of Charlton Adam having undergone a refurbishment we are looking for new Chefs to join our busy Country Pub. The fox & Hounds will be producing high quality restaurant meals using fresh, local seasonal produce across all services - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The pub with be having weekly theme nights, for example fish Fridays with weekly changing menu. This position is perfect for someone looking to improve their butchery, fish mongering and taught by a classically trained Chef.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and gain valuable experience in food safety and hospitality standards. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to grow within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and ensuring quality standards are met
- Helping to run breakfast / lunch services.
- Support the team with food presentation and plating to maintain visual appeal
- Help with organising ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Support senior chefs with various kitchen tasks, including basic cooking techniques and food assembly
- Follow all food safety protocols diligently, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues
Skills
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Must have previous experience or training in food production or hospitality.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude
