We are working with a welcoming infant school in Kensington and Chelsea, who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Teaching Assistant with a background in Drama, Performing Arts or the Creative Arts to join their team for the full 2026/27 academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or professional from a creative background who is looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment, particularly supporting young children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The school are offering trial days during the first week of September, giving you the opportunity to experience the school, meet the staff and pupils, and demonstrate your skills before securing the full-time position.
Following a successful trial, you will be offered the opportunity to start immediately in September and remain in the role for the full academic year.
The Role
- Supporting infant-aged pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Assisting teachers with engaging and inclusive lessons and activities
- Helping children develop their communication, confidence and social skills
- Using creativity, imagination and energy to engage young learners
- Supporting pupils with their learning, behaviour and emotional development
- Building positive relationships with children and staff
- Contributing to a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
You Will Need To
- Have a background in, or genuine passion for, Drama, Performing Arts or the Creative Arts
- Be confident, enthusiastic, patient and adaptable
- Have a genuine interest in working with young children
- Be keen to gain experience within an infant school environment
- Be available full-time from September 2026 for the full academic year
- Be available to attend a trial day during the first week of September
This role would be particularly well suited to Drama, Musical Theatre, Performing Arts or Creative Arts graduates, as well as aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, therapists or anyone looking to use their creative skills to make a positive impact on children's education and development.
