Job Summary
We are searching for a positive, energetic team player to join our team in the role of Inventory Controller. You will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate records of goods in and goods dispatched, stock checking, ensuring designated areas conform to BRCGS and customer requirements and continuously look to implement process improvements to enhance overall efficiency. Duties
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Promote a safe working environment though instruction and control. Identifying and correct reporting of unsafe conditions/hazard and or risk, making recommendations for improvement.
- Actively improve standards of Housekeeping and Hygiene (Good manufacturing practices) through instruction and control.
- Update and maintain accurate record keeping, including checking weights where appropriate of goods in and goods despatched, ensuring discrepancies are resolved.
- Book inbound deliveries in accurately on the AS400 system, generating the necessary pallet ID’s (barcodes) for the product delivered.
- Assist with daily/monthly/Mid-year and End-year stock checks and cycle counts of raw material /finished goods/packaging (both primary and secondary). Report any anomalies to the Inventory Control Manager.
- Policing the inventory stock locations to ensure it conforms to the British Retail Consortium (BRC) requirement any non-conformances are to be reported to the Inventory Control Manager.
- Collaborate with various departments and offsite storage facilities to resolve any stock anomalies and enquiries.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports and statistics, promptly and accurately.
- Support Material Handlers activities/ manning levels.
- Provide holiday and or sickness/absence cover to support the inventory department.
- Update and maintain GKN, IPP and LPR portal (hiring and dehiring of pallets).
- Book in customer returns accurately onto the as400 and complaint database system.
- Collaborate with departments to action manual release notes (MRN) and complaint release notes and update the as400 accordingly.
- Carry out silo reading and update AS400 accordingly.
- Authorising the inbound deliveries (silo tankers) ensuring all documentation corresponds to the vehicle and silo and conforms with BRCGS requirements.
- Carry out other duties as required, dependant on business needs and subject to the appropriate training.
Qualifications and Skills
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck Certificate - Essential
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels - Essential
- Demonstrates willingness to support others and has an approachable attitude - Essential
- Experience with ERP systems (such as AS400) is desirable
- Experience of working in warehouse environments is desirable
