Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and finishing touches to meet client specifications
- Assess each dog’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming techniques
- Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment, adhering to hygiene standards and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet care
- Manage appointments efficiently, ensuring timely service delivery while maintaining high-quality standards
- Handle heavy lifting of dogs and grooming equipment safely and comfortably
- Keep detailed records of services provided, customer preferences, and any special instructions for future visits
Requirements
- Proven experience as a dog groomer with a strong portfolio of completed work
- Knowledge of animal care practices and veterinary considerations related to grooming
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting of dogs and equipment regularly throughout the day
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for working with animals in a caring manner
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills to manage your own schedule effectively
- Certification or experience in veterinary care is a plus but not mandatory
