Bradda View Care Home are looking for a Sous Chef to join the team, and be responsible for undertaking food preparation tasks, as directed by the Chef/Head Chef, preparing ingredients, cleaning vegetables, and preparing simple dishes. They will also be responsible for servicing food to the residents.
The Sous Chef will also work with the Kitchen Assistants and be responsible for cleaning and tidying workstations and equipment. They may also sometimes be responsible for restocking the store room and cold room in accordance with the Chef's instructions, for bringing ingredients into the kitchen, and to ensure food is packed and stored in accordance with all applicable food hygiene and safety regulations.
The Sous Chef will also be expected to cover for the Head Chef/Chef in times of absence.

Prepping ingredients for dishes.
- Washing and slicing fruit and vegetables.
- Cooking ingredients according to directions received from the Head Chef/Chef.
- Keeping all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils clean and in order.
- Managing store rooms and cold rooms.
- Preparation of residents' food trays and trollies.
- Maintaining clean kitchen area floors and corridors.
- Maintain high standards of Food & Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
- Comply with the Health & Safety policy and procedures.
- Comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).
- To undertake other duties, as required and directed by the Head Chef/Chef.
- Assist with menu planning.
- Oversee breakfast serving.
- Assisting the Head Chef/Chef, and taking responsibilities when Head Chef/Chef is absent.
- Ensuring food quality is of excellent standard.

Food and Hygiene Level 2 Certificate.
- COSHH Level 1 Certificate.
- HACCP Level 2 or 3 Certificate.
- Proficient in English.
- Ability to stand on your feet for several hours.
- Commitment.
- Understanding the importance of health and hygiene.
- A great team player with plenty of stamina.
- The ability to listen and learn - fast.
- Good understanding of pastry work.
