Senior E-Commerce & Operations Manager

We are a fast-growing multi-category e-commerce business selling a wide range of products across various online marketplaces, including consumer electronics, mobile accessories, clothing, and other retail categories. With ambitious growth plans, we are seeking an experienced and driven Senior E-Commerce & Operations Manager to lead, develop, and scale our online operations.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has extensive marketplace experience, and is passionate about growing online businesses. The successful candidate will take full ownership of our e-commerce operation, driving sales growth, improving efficiencies, and leading a high-performing team.
The Role
You will be responsible for the complete management and growth of our online business across multiple platforms, including:
- eBay
- Amazon
- TikTok Shop
- Back Market
- Shopify/Website
- Future marketplaces as the business expands
You will oversee all aspects of the online operation, including marketplace management, digital marketing, customer service, logistics, team leadership, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Marketplace & Website Management
- Manage and optimise all marketplace accounts and e-commerce websites.
- Create, improve, and maintain high-converting product listings.
- Manage website content, product uploads, and user experience.
- Monitor account health and ensure compliance with all marketplace policies.
- Resolve account issues, restrictions, suspensions, and escalations.
- Develop pricing strategies, promotions, and merchandising plans.
- Monitor competitors, market trends, and emerging opportunities.
SEO & Digital Marketing
- Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve search rankings and organic traffic.
- Conduct keyword research, content optimisation, and technical SEO audits.
- Plan, manage, and optimise digital marketing campaigns across Google Ads, social media, email marketing, and marketplace advertising platforms.
- Manage Amazon PPC, eBay Promoted Listings, TikTok Ads, and other paid advertising channels.
- Analyse campaign performance and maximise return on investment.
- Develop B2B marketing initiatives and targeted campaigns where required.
Sales & Business Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to increase online sales and profitability.
- Identify new marketplace opportunities and expansion channels.
- Analyse sales performance and implement improvements.
- Drive business growth through continuous optimisation and innovation.
Operations & Logistics
- Oversee order processing, fulfilment, packaging, and dispatch operations.
- Ensure all orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
- Manage stock levels and inventory accuracy across all channels.
- Forecast stock requirements and coordinate with suppliers.
- Oversee returns, refunds, warranties, and courier relationships.
Customer Experience
- Ensure exceptional customer service across all platforms.
- Manage customer enquiries, complaints, disputes, and escalated issues.
- Maintain excellent seller ratings, customer feedback scores, and account performance metrics.
Team Leadership & Project Management
- Recruit, train, manage, and develop the e-commerce team.
- Set objectives, KPIs, and performance standards.
- Allocate workloads and monitor productivity.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and business objectives are achieved.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and external agencies to deliver business initiatives.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce weekly and monthly sales and performance reports.
- Analyse website, sales, and campaign performance using Google Analytics and other reporting tools.
- Monitor KPIs, margins, and operational performance.
- Prepare reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint for senior management.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing e-commerce marketplaces.
- Proven experience managing eBay, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Shopify, or similar online sales platforms.
- Previous experience leading and managing a team.
- Strong understanding of marketplace policies, compliance, and account health.
- Proven experience growing online sales and scaling e-commerce operations.
- Strong knowledge of SEO, Google Ads, Google Analytics, email marketing, and social media management.
- Experience using WordPress and Adobe Photoshop.
- Excellent copywriting and content creation skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the department.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within consumer electronics, retail, fashion, or multi-category e-commerce.
- Experience with inventory and order management systems.
- Experience with B2B marketing strategies.
- Knowledge of conversion rate optimisation and online merchandising.
- Experience scaling fast-growing e-commerce businesses.
