Working Pattern: 4–5 full days per week with flexibility (e.g. full days (10 hours) with one weekday off)
Rainbow Day Nursery is looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated early years professional ready to support the Nursery Manager in leading a high-quality, nurturing environment for our children.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will:
- Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Lead the setting in the Manager’s absence
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted and EYFS requirements
- Promote high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, and wellbeing
- Support, motivate, and mentor staff
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
- Assist with staff supervision, planning, and development
- Support occupancy, administration, and overall nursery organisation
The role offers flexibility across 4–5 full working days per week, allowing for a weekday off where agreed.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 full and relevant Early Years qualification
- Level 5 qualification in Early Years or Leadership & Management (desirable or willingness to work towards)
- At least 1–2 years’ experience in a senior or room leader role within an early years setting
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Safeguarding and Child Protection training
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organisational ability
- Clear Enhanced DBS check
Desirable
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
- SENCO experience or training
- Experience supporting staff supervision and performance management
