Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Stockport:
Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:30am - 5pm
We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering specialist at their site based in Stockport.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer?
- Producing technical specifications and detailed engineering documentation
- Developing Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
- Producing functional and technical design documentation
- Designing and specifying mechanical systems
- Completing pipe sizing, pump sizing and engineering calculations
- Carrying out technical and safety assessments
- Coordinating CAD design activity to keep drawings accurate and on programme
- Liaising with Project Managers, suppliers, contractors and clients
- Supporting project budgets and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Managing supplier performance and technical deliverables
- Reviewing and signing off supplier documentation
- Providing technical support throughout project delivery
- Attending sites for layout surveys, technical issues and commissioning support
What will you need?
- HNC, HND or degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- At least 5 years’ experience in technical management and development of energy projects
- Mechanical engineering experience across power generation, pipework and ventilation design
- Knowledge of CDM and health and safety
- Effective IT skills
- Experience using AutoCAD 3D (or equivalent)
- Full, current driving licence
