We are looking for a part-time Assistant Restaurant Manager to help lead our front-of-house team and maintain the friendly, welcoming feel that makes The Kentish Rifleman special.
This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the restaurant and bar areas. You will work a part-time rota that includes one day every weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a warm, inviting atmosphere so every guest feels genuinely welcome from the moment they arrive
- Lead and support the front-of-house team during shifts, ensuring smooth service and high standards
- Manage Restaurant and Garden Room bookings, table allocation and guest flow
- Deliver excellent table service and, when required, assist behind the bar
- Oversee the dining experience – from greeting guests to checking on tables and handling any feedback
- Support cash handling and end-of-shift procedures
- Help train and motivate team members in our standards of hospitality
- Ensure the pub remains clean, well-presented and ready for service at all times
- Work closely with the kitchen and management team to deliver a seamless guest experience
What We’re Looking For
- Proven restaurant experience (essential)
- Previous bar experience (highly desirable)
- A natural ability to create a warm, friendly atmosphere and make guests feel at home
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the confidence to run a busy shift
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- A calm, positive attitude under pressure
- Flexibility to work a part-time rota that includes one weekend day
- Passion for traditional pub hospitality and high-quality food and drink

Pay: £13.00-£18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
