Customer Assistant – Sew n Sew Bath
Location: Bath Guildhall Market
Hours: 11 hours per week
Shifts: Tuesday (11:30–17:00) and Thursday (11:30–17:00) Must also have flexibility to cover extra shifts for holidays and busy periods.
Contract: Permanent
Availability Required: We are open over the Christmas period (23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th, 31st)
Sew n Sew Bath is a friendly, long-established haberdashery located in the heart of Bath Guildhall Market. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Customer Assistant to join our small team and provide exceptional service to our loyal customers.
An interest in crafts is ideal, but we’re equally happy to welcome candidates who are eager to learn about our products and enjoy helping people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, professional assistance to customers in person and over the phone
- Respond to enquiries, give product information, and process orders
- Recommend suitable products and confidently upsell where appropriate
- Handle customer concerns with patience, empathy, and a solution-focused approach
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a tidy, organised, and welcoming workspace
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Skills & Experience
- Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Excellent listening abilities and a friendly, customer-focused manner
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to understand customer needs and suggest suitable products
- Confident phone etiquette and ability to multitask
- Sales awareness and upselling skills
