Highways Operations is a growing service area within the Place directorate. It is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive service consisting of the construction and maintenance, and all other works relating to, the public highway and associated assets within Doncaster.
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Engineer in Highways to work in a growing service area. This post will be responsible for Technical Support for Highways Operations particularly to programme and supervise sub-contractors on highways and drainage schemes, including the utilisation of modern setting out techniques, as well as final measurement, valuations and payment on completion.
The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, well organised person who can readily communicate with engineers, managers, contractors and the public alike. Reliable and professional with a customer focused approach you will work across departments and with external partners to provide a consistent service.
Extensive knowledge and experience of civil engineering practices and contract procedures would be desirable but is not essential for the right candidate as training and support, from a highly experienced team is available.
