We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Care Manager to lead and manage our domiciliary care service in Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, compliance, and delivery of high-quality care services in line with regulatory standards.
This is a key leadership role requiring strong organisational, compliance, and people management skills to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care.
Working Hours
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Participation in on-call duties (2 weeks on-call rota)
Key ResponsibilitiesService Management
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the domiciliary care service
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care
- Maintain full compliance with CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) regulations and standards
- Lead on inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support care staff
- Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews
- Manage staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels
- Handle disciplinary procedures and staff development plans
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and followed
- Maintain accurate care records, risk assessments, and care plans
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are implemented and followed
- Report incidents and concerns appropriately
Client & Care Delivery
- Assess new service users and develop person-centred care plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with service users and families
- Liaise with local authorities, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders
Business & Operational Responsibilities
- Support service growth and development
- Monitor budgets and ensure cost-effective service delivery
- Maintain occupancy levels and ensure service sustainability
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – mandatory
- Previous experience as a Registered Care Manager or Deputy Manager
- Strong knowledge of CIW regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle – essential
Desirable
- Experience managing a domiciliary care service
- Proven track record of achieving good/excellent inspection ratings
- Business development experience within care sector
