Working closely with the Headteacher, you will play a key strategic role in shaping the future direction of the school, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and wellbeing.
As part of our longer-term leadership structure, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to undertake the SENCO role after one year, supported through appropriate training and professional development where required.
The Deputy Headteacher will:
- Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school.
- Lead and inspire staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
- Drive school improvement priorities through effective monitoring, evaluation and development planning.
- Champion inclusion, ensuring all pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
- Foster strong relationships with pupils, families, governors and the wider community.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead as required.
- Deputise for the Headteacher in their absence.
- Following a successful first year, undertake SENCO responsibilities, subject to statutory requirements and appropriate training.
- Is an experienced and outstanding primary practitioner.
- Has successful leadership experience and a proven impact on school improvement.
- Demonstrates a clear commitment to inclusive education and meeting the needs of all learners.
- Is passionate about achieving excellent outcomes for children.
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Can motivate, support and develop colleagues.
- Has the resilience, drive and vision to contribute to the next stage of our school's journey.
- Has, or is willing to undertake, the SENCO qualification if not already qualified.
