Join the team at the Bloomsbury Clinic for a 12 months fixed term maternity cover, Mortimer Market Centre, as a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated registered nurse with a passion for HIV, viral hepatitis and sexual health to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within one of London's leading specialist services.
You will provide autonomous nurse-led clinics, undertake assessment, investigation and management of patients living with HIV and viral hepatitis, contribute to sexual health services, and play an important leadership role within the multidisciplinary team. You will also support the development of junior colleagues and students while contributing to service improvement, education and clinical governance.
As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will:
Deliver nurse-led HIV, viral hepatitis and sexual health clinics.
Assess, examine and manage patients with a range of symptomatic and asymptomatic sexually transmitted infections.
Provide HIV and hepatitis treatment advice, vaccination, health promotion.
Safely administer treatment under Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and arrange appropriate prescriptions.
Coordinate the daily running of the clinical area, taking charge of shifts and supporting healthcare support workers and junior staff.
Act as a clinical mentor for nurses, students and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in audit, research, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
Promote safe, evidence-based practice while maintaining excellent clinical documentation and multidisciplinary communication.

The successful candidate will be an experienced registered nurse with substantial post-registration experience in HIV and/or sexual health nursing. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
