Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, including cooks and junior chefs, fostering a positive team environment
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring all dishes meet specified recipes and presentation standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, demonstrating expertise in culinary techniques and food presentation
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas
- Assist in menu planning, ingredient ordering, and stock control to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Support the training and development of junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production across diverse cuisines
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality establishment is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous
